CSUN Aquatic Programs
The CSUN Aquatic Center mission is to provide valuable recreation and educational programs to the greater CSUN community. The following programs and services are available to CSUN students, faculty, and staff:
CSUN Department of Recreation and Tourism Management (RTM) provides academic credit courses at the Aquatic Center. CSUN educators provide the highest caliber of instruction on Flatwater boating, Wakeboarding and water skiing, Sailing, and many other offerings. Courses are offered during the Spring and Fall Semesters.

RTM 151D: Flat Water BoatingObjectives: This semester-long course serves as an introduction to safe travel by kayak or canoe on lakes, rivers, and oceans. Course Meetings: Saturdays, 9:00 to 12:00 Open to Currently enrolled CSUN students |
RTM 265: Wake boarding and Water skiingObjectives: This semester-long course serves as an introduction to water skiing and wake boarding. Course Meetings: Fridays, 9:00 to 12:00 Open to Currently enrolled CSUN students Description: Meeting every Friday at the CSUN Aquatic Center, our Professors and boating instructors will set the foundations of tow sports and expand on critical skills. |
RTM 267/LSailingObjectives- This semester-long course serves as a broad introduction to sailing. Course Meets- Fridays, 1:00 to 3:45 Open to- Currently enrolled CSUN students Description- Meeting every Friday at the CSUN Aquatic Center, our Professors and boating instructors will set the foundations of sailing and expand on critical skills. Prerequisite- Elementary swimming skills. Corequisite: RTM 267L. |
BOATING WORKSHOPS
The CSUN Aquatic Center Hosts a variety of Open Recreation workshops. These not-for-credit, private workshops are available to current CSUN students, Faculty and Staff per request only. Workshops are typically two hour-long sessions where you can learn a new skill or continue to develop your boating hobby. Courses are held Friday's and Saturday's from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Workshops are FREE for CSUN Students and $10 for CSUN Faculty and Staff. Workshops include lifeguards/boating instructors, all necessary boating equipment and waived entrance fees into Castaic Lake Recreation Area.

COMMUNITY BOATING DAYS
If you are not quite ready for a workshop but want to try things out in a more casual capacity, please join us for our FREE COMMUNITY BOATING DAYS. Whether you are looking for an exciting day of trying something new like kayaking or looking to lounge around next to the lake, the CSUN Aquatic Center is hosting, free, open recreation days at Lake Castaic.

CSUN Associated Students Outdoor Adventures provides Outdoor Experiences for anyone and everyone. Outdoor Adventures runs trips from CSUN Campus to the Aquatic Center throughout the year.
