Dance Events

Two Performances: Thursday May 4, 2023 at 7:30pm and Friday May 5, 2023 at 2pm. CSUN showcases a new multimedia performance that addresses climate change and the anxiety related to this environmental crisis. This new work includes students and faculty from three different colleges (Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication (event hosts), College of Health and Human Development, and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences) and five different departments (Africana Studies, Environmental and Occupational Health, Kinesiology, Music, and Theatre). The Department of Kinesiology invites you to two performance events: Fall Semester (1) Colaboratoria: Graduate Student, Alumni and Faculty Dance Concert, and (2) Kinesis: Emerging Choreography.  The annual fall and spring dance concerts provide rich opportunities to integrate the art and science of human movement, in fact, psychophysiology data will be gathered during each performance. Both performance events are supported by the Institutionally Related Activities program; this program is integral to the vitality of our dance programming at CSUN. Read more

The tribute, celebration and untold stories of the dancers who helped birth Hip-Hop culture. Please join the Department of Africana Studies, in association with the Department of Cinema and Television Arts, for a reception and screening of the documentary film "And I Danced" followed by a Q&A with writer and director Chris Martin from Kid N Play.
