About this Event

The tribute, celebration and untold stories of the dancers who helped birth Hip-Hop culture. Please join the Department of Africana Studies, in association with the Department of Cinema and Television Arts, for a reception and screening of the documentary film "And I Danced" followed by a Q&A with writer and director Chris Martin from Kid N Play. This documentary film shares the little-known stories of the dancers who have made hip-hop music videos shine over the years. The film also tackles how women have been portrayed in the videos and the genre in general.
