Program Vision
To be recognized as a program of choice for students seeking a construction management education and to serve the needs of the construction industry in California, especially in Los Angeles.
Program Mission
The Construction Management Program helps students develop the skills and knowledge needed to successfully complete construction projects on time and within budget, adhering to construction standards and safety guidelines. Graduates will have sufficient knowledge and skills to find employment in commercial, design build, heavy civil and residential applications of the construction industry.
Program Educational Objectives
The CSUN undergraduate Construction Management Program prepares students for lifelong careers in the construction industry that will allow them to make productive contributions to the construction field and society, and to find job satisfaction.
Graduates of this program will:
- Establish a record of effective application of undergraduate educational tools to accomplish tasks assigned in the workplace.
- Demonstrate the managerial skills to organize and control construction projects from conception to closeout.
- Develop inclusive and equitable leadership capabilities through practical applications and team-building techniques in a diverse environment.
- Present a sense of exploration and the ability to maintain lifelong learning in the areas of emerging construction methods and management technologies.
- Provide evidence of strong communication skills and delivery.

ACCE Accreditation
The B.S. in Construction Management program at CSUN is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and aims to be the program of choice for students seeking a comprehensive education in construction management. Graduates of our program are well-prepared for rewarding careers in various sectors of the construction industry, including commercial, design-build, heavy civil, and residential construction.
The Construction Management Program is accredited by ACCE as of July 2015.
Degree Requirements
- A grade of C- or better is required in all courses in the major.
- Senior-level (400-plus) courses cannot be taken unless the student has previously completed, or is concurrently completing, all freshman-, sophomore-, and junior-level core requirements.
