We all deserve abuse-free lives ~ DVAM Message

October 1, 2020

DVAMCrowdFunder #1

Did you know that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have experienced severe physical violence from a partner in their lifetimes? Survivors of Domestic Violence experience not only physical injuries, but also financial hardship, mental health issues, and chronic lifetime health problems. Children, teens, the elderly, People of Color, and the LGBTQIA+ community are especially vulnerable to these adverse impacts. And the current pandemic has exacerbated all of the stressors that can cause violent abuse.

This year StrengthUnited has seen a 40% increase in calls for urgent assistance from individuals experiencing domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and StrengthUnited is hosting online activities and programming throughout the month. Click here to see the schedule and register.

Throughout October, we will be also be raising funds to support our work with survivors of Domestic Violence. Partners like you make it possible for us to provide intervention, support, and prevention services. Together we can ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity for an abuse-free life.

Only with your support can we provide these critical services and prevention efforts. Please make a contribution to StrengthUnited today, join us for our DVAM events, and thank you for visiting StrengthUnited.org to learn more about our work.

With thanks,
The StrengthUnited Family
