Amy Hanreddy & Alex Hollett Each Receive 2024 Blenda Wilson Diversity in Education Awards

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Dr. Amy Hanreddy and Dr. Alex Hollett each as recipient of the 2024 Blenda Wilson Diversity in Education Award!

This year’s pool of nominees for the Blenda J. Wilson Diversity in Education Award were all outstanding, representing a wide variety of accomplishments in scholarship, teaching, and service. It is clear that faculty and staff in our College are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

The award is presented each spring to a full-time faculty member or members, from the College of Education who make, or who has made, a significant impact on the education of students in the college through one or more of the following: 

  • brought faculty and/or students together for dialogue about social justice issues, 
  • engaged in curriculum development that led to the inclusion of topics and materials on gender, cultural and/or racial/ethnic marginalized populations, 
  • enhanced awareness of multicultural and gender issues through a faculty development activity, 
  • participated in the recruitment and/or retention activities that diversified the student body, 
  • engaged in classroom activities and pedagogy that increased students’ understanding of the social construction of gender and racial/ethnicity in our society, 
  • initiated research that advances our thinking about gender, racial/ethnicity, and/or social class.
