We are proud that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education remains one of the largest Colleges of Education in the CSU system, providing to our surrounding communities hundreds of outstanding new professionals in the fields of education, counseling, administration, and Deaf Studies. The Eisner College engages in transformative education and initiatives that put into practice our commitment to social justice, equity, access, and inclusion, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of university, school, and community members. I am grateful to our talented faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, all instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our educational programs and community-serving centers. We have much to celebrate as we send forth our students to make positive contributions to our world!

The Bridge Project Receives Continuation Grant

The Office of Special Education Programs (U.S. Department of Education) has recently approved a continuation award to CSUN for the project entitled, “The Bridge Project: Bringing Early Childhood Special Educators and Behavior Interventionists Together Through Interdisciplinary Evidence Based Preparation to Serve Young Children with High-Intensity Needs” in the amount of $193,552 for Year 2020-2021. CTL continues to provide Professional Development support to our community

Center for Teaching & Learning

During these unusual times, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) continues to support a wide variety of schools and programs to address their identified needs. Birmingham Community Charter, Roosevelt, and CHAMPS Arts high schools have all extended their contracts for the 2020/2021 academic year. Also, SIMPACT is now housed within the CTL. SIMPACT (www.csun.edu/simpact) is an award-winning mixed-reality simulation system designed to provide educators with a highly realistic virtual platform to practice skills around social work, counseling, teaching, conflict resolution, social-emotional learning and many other interpersonal interactions.
