We are proud that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education remains one of the largest Colleges of Education in the CSU system, providing to our surrounding communities hundreds of outstanding new professionals in the fields of education, counseling, administration, and Deaf Studies. The Eisner College engages in transformative education and initiatives that put into practice our commitment to social justice, equity, access, and inclusion, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of university, school, and community members. I am grateful to our talented faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, all instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our educational programs and community-serving centers. The CTL presents Tina Payne Bryson, speaking on “The Whole-Brain Child in the Classroom”.

In their New York Times bestseller THE WHOLE-BRAIN CHILD, Tina Bryson and Dan Siegel introduce parents and other caregivers to practical strategies based on cutting-edge brain science. A central principle of the book is that the strategies can help parents not only survive difficult moments with their kids, but actually use those very moments to help their children thrive. In this presentation, Dr. Bryson will take this central concept and apply it to teacher-student interactions. The best teaching strategies are the ones that not only help instructors maintain order and cover material effectively, but that also challenge kids to become all that they’re meant to be. Read more
