We are proud that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education remains one of the largest Colleges of Education in the CSU system, providing to our surrounding communities hundreds of outstanding new professionals in the fields of education, counseling, administration, and Deaf Studies. The Eisner College engages in transformative education and initiatives that put into practice our commitment to social justice, equity, access, and inclusion, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of university, school, and community members. I am grateful to our talented faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, all instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our educational programs and community-serving centers. We have reason to be proud as we prepare our students to make positive contributions to our world!

CSUN Chosen for Chancellor's Office Diversity Initiative

CSU Chancellor's Office Learning Lab

In January, the MDECOE was selected as one of five CSU colleges of education to participate in the Chancellor’s Office Learning Lab for Improvement: CSU Educator Preparation Diversity Initiative. This is a collective of improvement-minded leaders to support system-wide goal of improving the diversity of teacher candidates completing CSU credential programs. Read more

StrengthUnited Supports Our Community Through Crisis

StrengthUnited provides intervention, prevention, and outreach services to thousands of children, adults, and families throughout our community, and hundreds of CSUN students have received their undergraduate and graduate training there. When COVID-19 pandemic turned our world upside down, StrengthUnited quickly adapted in order to continue providing 24/7 crisis services, and expanded their work to meet the growing need and reduce factors known to contribute to abuse and maltreatment. Pete Goldschmidt Awarded Project Grant

Dr. Pete Goldschmidt has received an award from the State of Mississippi for his project entitled, “Evaluating English Language Progress Models: The Sensitivity of Claims about Progress Across State Models” in the amount of $290,185. This award represents a significant accomplishment on his part and an important contribution to the University. Congratulations, Pete!
