We are proud that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education remains one of the largest Colleges of Education in the CSU system, providing to our surrounding communities hundreds of outstanding new professionals in the fields of education, counseling, administration, and Deaf Studies. The Eisner College engages in transformative education and initiatives that put into practice our commitment to social justice, equity, access, and inclusion, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of university, school, and community members. I am grateful to our talented faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, all instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our educational programs and community-serving centers. ACT-R Program Awarded Funding From Bechtel Foundation

The University Library

The California State University (CSU) has received funding from the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation for the CSU Residency Year Service Scholarship Program. This prestigious scholarship program is particularly important for CSU candidates as the system produces half of California’s new teachers, averaging over 7,500 candidates annually. Our candidates are highly diverse, with nearly one-third Hispanic/Latino. More than two-thirds are Pell grant recipients. Read more

Lissa Stapleton Publishes New Book

In Dr. Lissa Ramirez-Stapleton’s new book, Black Deaf Lives Matter: A fun coloring & activity book about Black Deaf life, history, culture & sign languages, Deaf Black culture is the star of the show. In Black Deaf Lives Matter children can engage in learning about Black Deaf role models, history, and movements through an activity book aimed at ages 9 and up. In her beautifully illustrated activity book, Dr. Ramirez-Stapleton helps children bring the history, hardships, and joys of Black Deaf culture to life. Equal parts informative and fun, Black Deaf Lives Matter highlights this vibrant community. Read more
