We will discuss how the inclusive design of the Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface helps low-vision readers with improved legibility and readability. The unconventional and rule-breaking design focuses on letterform distinction to improve character recognition and readability. We will review results from a quantitative study with low-vision readers on improved readability with the font. We will discuss current applications of the font.
