Workshop topics will be determined by faculty needs and current interests, balanced by existing trends in the respective disciplines. Workshops may cover topics such as:
- Basic research study design
- Basic statistics and advanced statistics
- Grant writing
- Manuscript writing
- Software applications for big data
- Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR)
- Survey development
- Cultural competence in research
- Linking research with public policy
- Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
- Efficient technology in research
These workshops will be available to anyone at CSUN and will be supplemented by a large number of bibliographic resources. The purpose of the workshops is to allow for the development of cutting-edge research skills for researchers who are developing independent programs of research. When needed, external content experts will be invited to campus to provide these workshops to the faculty.
