Action Group 1, “Outreach to community college and CSU students,” has two strands. One strand was conceived and is led by three alumni from CSU Northridge: Diana Blanco Hernandez (now a PhD student at UC Santa Cruz), Mary Usufzy (a master’s student at CSU Fullerton), and Vidya Venkatesan (a PhD student at UC Irvine). As undergraduates they ran workshops for lower-division CSU Northridge students about the Cal-Bridge program and its summer research program. Although we cannot know if the workshops were the cause, applications from CSU Northridge have increased in the time since those workshops were implemented. -- Physics Today

Per is a talented Jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and educator, and throughout his career he has performed with many leading jazz artists and entertainers such as Rich Matteson, Louis Bellson, Clark Terry, Rosemary Clooney, Don Braden, and more. Portland rescinds job offer to police 'civilian dean of training' candidate
On Friday, PPB announced that it had chosen Dr. Thomas Datro to be civilian dean of training at PPB after "an extensive hiring process." Datro got his Doctorate of Education from the University of Southern California, earned a Master's in Public Administration from California State University at Northridge and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute and University. -- KGW
