Houston, Seybert among 16 MC athletes signing with 4-year schools

Four members of the Midland College men’s basketball team, which reached the Elite Eight of the NJCAA National Tournament, signed to play at the next level. Cal State’s Black students are falling behind other groups — and poor graduation data obscures the crisis

At least one Cal State legislative report painted an incomplete picture of its efforts to close equity gaps. Last year, the system wrote to lawmakers that Cal State Northridge narrowed its achievement gap by 4 percentage points between underrepresented and non-underrepresented minority groups between 2019 and 2020.
