CSUN Snaps Losing Streak with Victory over Cal State Bakersfield

In a Big West match, the CSUN Matadors secured a 3-1 victory over Cal State Bakersfield, putting an end to their three-match losing streak. Sophomore Leah Miller had a standout performance with a season-high 21 kills, hitting .450. Perri Starkey also contributed significantly with 17 kills and 18 digs, completing her seventh double-double of the season. Setter Carisa Barron recorded 29 assists, 11 digs, and nine kills, earning her eighth double-double of the season. CSUN outperformed Bakersfield in hitting percentage and team digs. The Matadors will face Hawai’i in their next match. -- BVM Sports

Walking Dead’s Lauren Ridloff honored at NAD Breakthrough Awards

In 2000, after graduating from California State University, Northridge, a university whose population is comprised of a large number of deaf and hard-of-hearing students, Ridloff was crowned Miss Deaf America. This honor allowed her to become a spokesperson for NAD for two years. During this time, she attended luncheons and graduations, educating people about the organization. -- Undead Walking

Thousands Rally in Downtown Los Angeles in Support of Palestine

“I attended the march in solidarity with the Palestinian people, in their struggle to come out and be vocal against oppression and injustice at a time that we see it being condoned in every facet of our society, like in the media and in institutions,” said Marjina Haque, a valley resident and a student at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), who re-initiated the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at CSUN last year. -- San Fernando Valley Sun

CSUN Releases Spring Tennis Schedule

California State University, Northridge women’s tennis head coach Gary Victor has released the 2024 spring schedule set to kick off Friday, Jan. 19. During the season, the Matadors will face a total of four NCAA Tournament teams along with the always competitive Big West slate. -- SCV News
