Maynard attended Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania studying chemistry and sign language interpreting. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree and moved to California to work at Cal State Northridge’s National Center on Deafness in 1994. Professional Bio: Alexander Medina is a rising senior at California State University, Northridge, where he is majoring in political science with a minor in urban planning. Coming from a family of small business owners in Los Angeles, Alexander has always had an interest in creating a political climate that strongly supports industry. He is an advocate for economic development, innovative financial strategies, and passing business friendly legislation. His prior experience includes interning for various political campaigns, Congressman Tony Cardenas, and the Valley Industry & Commerce Association. At his university, he is a leader in multiple clubs, including the Association of Latino Professionals for America and the Political Science Student Association. In May, he was awarded the Lonnie S. Turner Scholarship Award by his university for being the top academically performing junior in the political science program. After graduating university, Alexander hopes to continue working in legislative affairs for the private sector. -- U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Laure Marest appointed Associate Curator of Ancient Coins at the Harvard Art Museums

Marest has previously held teaching positions at the University of California, Berkeley, and California State University, Northridge, as well as curatorial assistant and intern positions in the Department of Antiquities at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles. At the Getty, she assisted with several exhibitions, including Modern Antiquity: Picasso, De Chirico, Léger and Picabia in the Presence of the Antique (2011–12), The Art of Ancient Greek Theater (2010–11), Collector’s Choice: J. Paul Getty and His Antiquities (2009–10), and Carvers and Collectors: The Lasting Allure of Ancient Gems (2009). -- Art Daily
