Rhiannon Giddens’ Next Act

Rhiannon Giddens has taken a chair, stage right in the theater at the Soraya Center for the Performing Arts at Cal State University Northridge in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley suburb. She’s asking her question to the dozen (or so) other musicians arranged with their instruments in an arc across the stage. This is the acclaimed Silkroad Ensemble, a collective of visionary international talent, sound-checking and rehearsing for the evening’s concert, just the fourth on their tour of their American Railroad project. -- AOL

Nov. 25: CSUN Hosting 38th Annual Powwow

The 38th Annual CSUN Powwow will take place Nov. 25, to celebrate American Indian communities of Los Angeles and throughout Southern California. The powwow is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Sierra Quad, located in the center of campus at 18111 Nordhoff Street in Northridge. -- SCV News

Reparations discussions are happening on the city, county, and state levels

The city advisory commission has been giving presentations at community meetings and churches, and they have held several virtual meetings that are open to the public.
