The FBI’s efforts got Ture expelled from SNCC, and the Panthers denounced him. Ture was a victim of “pig jacketing by the FBI who planted false documents and spread lies calling him a CIA agent to create a split in the Black Panther Party,” according to a research paper entitled “The COINTELPRO Jacket: Destroying the Movement from Within,” written by James M. Simmons. The paper was published in January 2017. Simmons is a professor of Africana Studies at California State University, Northridge. -- The Moguldom News

Desert Community Orchestra Association announces scholarship recipients
Rachel Huynh, violinist, is also a senior graduating in June from Burroughs High School. During her high school years, she has studied piano, voice, and violin, and has been selected as a performer in master classes with various professional violinists. Rachel participated in BHS Orchestra and Madrigal Singers, and earned a Solo and Ensemble superior rating at SCSBOA Festival. Her community involvement includes performing in the Ridgecrest Opera Workshop. Rachel also enjoys writing; she has been published in the BHS newspaper. Her plans include attending CSU Northridge to major in psychology; however, she stated she hopes to balance her academic studies with continued musical studies. Did humans inherit love of alcohol from primate ancestors?
The study was led by primatologist Christina Campbell of California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and Victoria Weaver who collected fruit eaten and discarded by black-handed spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi) in Panama. They found that the alcohol concentration in the fruit was typically between 1% and 2% by volume, a by-product of natural fermentation by yeasts that eat sugar in ripening fruit. -- The Hindu
