David Ellenstein Named Artistic Director & Bill Kerlin Named Managing Director of Laguna Playhouse

Favorite roles as an actor include Andrey Botvinnik in A Walk in the Woods, Max Prince in Laughter on the 23rd Floor and Matt in Talley's Folly at North Coast Rep, title roles in Hamlet at Los Angeles Theatre Center and Los Angeles Repertory Company; Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof at Moonlight Stage, Richard III at California Shakespeare Festival; Einstein inPicasso at the Lapin Agile at Laguna Playhouse; Calisto in The Illusion and Harker in Dracula at the Arizona Theatre Company; Jonathan in Sight Unseen at North Coast Rep and Portland Repertory Theatre. CSUN Honors Convocation Puts Spotlight on Outstanding Graduates

Of the approximately 3,700 invited to take part in California State University, Northridge’s Honors Convocation on Saturday, May 13, six individuals were singled out for special recognition as outstanding graduating students. Filipino Family Recalls Assault on its One-Year Anniversary

Her sister Patricia described how hard it’s been living near the place where she was assaulted — reliving the trauma of that day every time they drive by. However, she said that the campaign to get justice for her family is still going strong. Roque family commemorates first year of assault at McDonald’s with supporters

“Ever since that night of the incident, there have been some positive developments. I helped establish a new student and youth organization, Pilipino Youth Kollective (PYK),” another Roque daughter Patricia announced. “PYK is a newly formed organization based at CSU Northridge that campaigns for the rights of Filipinos in the San Fernando Valley.” -- Philippine News Today

Concordia Studio Selects Its 2023 Fellowship Class

Anayansi Pradois a documentary director and producer passionate about undocumented immigration, the US/Mexico border, indigenous land rights and mestizo racial identity. Her films include The Unafraid (PBS) about D.A.C.A. students, Paraiso for Sale (PBS), Children in No Man’s Land (PBS) on unaccompanied child migrants and Maid in America (PBS Independent Lens) about domestic workers in Los Angeles. Anayansi is previously a Chicken & Egg Fellow, a Creative Capital Artist, a Rockefeller Media Fellow and a Film Expert for The American Film Showcase. Anayansi has taught documentary filmmaking in five continents and was a visiting professor at UCLA, California State University, Northridge and Chapman University.
