Original Street Band WAR to Rock Los Angeles with “Low Rider,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and More Hits.

In 2021, WAR celebrated its 50th anniversary and took pride in the fact that founder and lead vocalist Jordan remains in the group. With a legacy that is still developing across all age groups, WAR now tours more than 150 days each year, performing for audiences of all sizes—from major venues to intimate clubs and county fairs. Senior Athlete Fitness Exam – Wednesday, Apr. 12, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. onsite at Pasadena Senior Center. Anyone 50 or older who actively engages in sports and other athletic activities is welcome to be assessed in the areas of cardiovascular, muscular, flexibility and balance. Assessments take only about 15 minutes to complete, and each participant will receive a report that identifies any risk factors and how to prevent potential future health issues. Mother Encounters Callous Public Agencies as She Battles for Her Homeless, Mentally Ill Son

Part of her self-care has been to pursue a college education. Through her troubles and tribulations and while working full time after raising three children, Pérez enrolled at California State University, Northridge and earned a bachelor’s degree in Chicana/o studies in 2018. Now she works as a scholarship coordinator for CSUN’s Financial Aid Department. She also decided to pursue a master’s degree at the Northridge campus and expects to graduate this summer. --The San Fernando Valley Sun
