A Hyatt hotel in being built at CSUN

According to LA Daily News, CSUN has recently signed a $ 52 million contract with Jupiter Realty Company, a real estate development company, to build a luxury hotel in the southeast corner of the campus. The university said it would replace the bistro faculty club building, which is located on the planned site when the hotel is completed. Meanwhile, the 52-year-old Northridge Branch may be forced to move in five years after its property owner announced plans to build housing tailored to students at Cal State Northridge. The historic post office was designed by noted architect Maxwell Starkman, who designed the Dunes casino in Las Vegas, and was featured in a Los Angeles survey as an example of San Fernando Valley mid-century Modernism. -- Los Angeles Daily News
