Long Beach State women’s soccer wins Big West tournament

The 49ers, who beat regular-season conference champion Cal State Northridge 1-0 on Thursday in the semifinals, added a second goal in the 24th minute when Vincent finished off a string of 11 passes. Depuy named Big West Offensive Player of the Year for a record third time

Elsewhere around the Big West, CSUN picked up a trio individual honors as Patrick Hickman was named Defensive Player of the Year, Terry Davila was named Coach of the Year, and Kevin Marquez was named Goalie of the Year. The CSUN women’s tennis team had some solid performances at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on the campus of San Diego State this past weekend. Sophomore Elisa Elhadj reached the Round of 16 in her first time at the event, defeating opponents from Long Beach State, Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara in singles competition. -- SCV News
