Matadors Team Captain Leading by Example

Reggie Theus Jr. knows what it takes to be a leader on and off the court. He even sports a “C” on his chest which stands for the team captain, and he models his game after his favorite player, LeBron James. --SCV TV

Will Aggie men pick up in Big West basketball where they left off?

CSUN (3-11, seventh pick) — Reggie Theus, the former Sacramento King, is 51-92 in 4 1/2 seasons in Northridge. With preseason All-Big West forward Tavrion Dawson lighting the way, the Matadors have cobbled together back-to-back wins over San Diego Christian and Morgan State, but that seventh-place preseason prediction could be media overreach. --Davis Enterprise

The waiting is over. Here comes BWC women’s opener

CSUN (7-7) — A clear second-place choice to UCD in early polls, the Matadors will hang their Big West hopes on Channon Fluker. The 6-4 center has been on a tear, recording a triple double that featured 28 points, 16 rebounds and 13 blocks (a conference record) in a 67-62 win over Seattle. --Davis Enterprise
