Discover Your Path to CSUN!
The Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) program is available to all graduating high school students who have not earned any college credit after high school. By starting your collegiate experience at a California community college and participating in the TSP program, you’ll have guaranteed admission to California State University, Northridge (CSUN) when you meet the program requirements.
Eligibility
You may be eligible to enter into an agreement with CSUN if you are:
- A recent high school graduate or you earned a GED or HiSET equivalency diploma, and you have not earned any college credit since completing high school.
- A first-time freshman entering a California community college and were not eligible to attend the CSU upon high school graduation.
- A first-time freshman who was eligible to attend the CSU but chose not to due to personal or financial reasons.
- You were admitted to a CSU campus that wasn’t your first choice.
Program Benefits
As a TSP participant, you will:
- Receive guaranteed admission to the degree program of your choice (if all requirements are met).
- Receive personalized guidance from CSUN representatives to create an educational plan that will help you transfer within three years.
- Map out your course work using the CSU Transfer Planner, a portal that helps you stay on track to your degree.
Enrollment
You can enroll in the Transfer Success Pathway program between August 1 and September 30. By enrolling, you agree to transfer from a community college to CSUN (or another CSU) within three years. Submit your agreement through the CSU Transfer Planner:
TSP Degree Offerings

Frequently Asked Questions
You will be guaranteed admission to CSUN and one of our degree programs upon completion of the transfer requirements.
Once CSUN reviews and approves your TSP agreement, you will be notified by email that your agreement has been accepted.
You will receive personalized guidance from your CSUN Transfer Success counselor, who will guide you in creating an educational plan to transfer to CSUN within three years. The counselor will also help you map out your course work using the CSU Transfer Planner to ensure you're staying on track to your degree.
TSP applicants can attend multiple community colleges; however, you can only apply to one CSU program and have one TSP agreement.
Students wishing to end their TSP agreement must submit a request for release and allow time for the CSU to review it. You can request to cancel your agreement at any time. However, you can select another campus or major only during the enrollment period between August 1 and September 30.
Students requesting to be released from their original agreement can elect to make a new agreement with a different CSUN major or another CSU provided the request is made within the filing period of August 1 and September 30.
Students deemed ineligible for the TSP program by any CSU cannot enter into an agreement with any other CSU. However, even if ineligible, you will still be able to use the CSU Transfer Planner.
The Transfer Success Pathway coordinator at CSUN will guide you through completing your Cal State Apply application, which you must submit during CSUN’s admissions application filing period when you are ready to transfer. Once CSUN receives your application you will receive our acceptance letter.
If you’ve entered into a TSP agreement and when you are ready to transfer, you will need to submit an application via Cal State Apply during CSUN’s admissions application filing period. Once the university receives your application, you will receive our acceptance letter.
Yes, students who participated in dual enrollment and completed community college courses while still in high school are eligible for TSP.
Yes, you can attend a different community college and even multiple community colleges. You can add the community colleges you are attending via the CSU Transfer Planner at any time.
