  • Spring semester admission: begins Aug. 1 only for athletes, veterans and international freshman applicants

Final high school transcript deadline

  • Fall applicants: July 15

Intent to Enroll

  • Fall applicants: May 1

Returning undergraduate students

If you left CSUN in good academic standing or on academic notice, do not submit a new Cal State Apply application. Instead, complete our Welcome Back Form during the following dates:

  • Fall semester admission: Oct. 1 to July 15* 
  • Spring semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30* 
  • Applicants who are athletes and veterans may have different application deadlines.

Returning undergraduate students who were previously disqualified

Starting spring 2025 and later, you can request readmission using the Welcome Back Form during these dates:

  • Fall semester admission: Oct. 1 to Jan. 31* 
  • Spring semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30*

If you are a post-baccalaureate student who holds a recognized bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, you may pursue a program leading to a second bachelor’s degree at CSUN in approved majors.

Apply to CSUN during the following application filing periods:

  • FALL semester admission: Apply from Oct. 1 to Jan. 31.
  • SPRING semester admission: Apply from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31.
