Reversible figures demonstrate the power of perception to change what we perceive.
3. Reversible Figure-Ground: The most fun type of figure ground task, and the best for demonstrating the power of perception are reversible figures. The three prong fork at the beginning of this session was one example of this.
What is so special about these figures, is that depending on how you organize it perceptually, may drastically alter what we ultimately experience. The illustration on the left nicely demonstrates that.
They say that," beauty is in the eye of the beholder." This is a very true commentary on perception. Note the figure of my wife below entitled "Before Six Beers."
