POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN ADAPTIVE OPTICS

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Position with the High-Resolution Imaging Laboratory at California State University Northridge. The successful applicant will work with Professor Deqing Ren on a project to develop a solar adaptive optics system for national leading solar telescopes. The research will involve the design, construction and software development of a portable Adaptive Optics system that is currently supported by National Science Foundation. Responsibilities will include: laboratory assembling, alignment, software development, and test of the adaptive optics. A Ph.D. in optics, physics, computer science, astronomy or equivalent in an area is relevant to this project. Software development using LabVIEW or previous experience in adaptive optics is highly desirable, but not of a necessity. The appointment is initially for two years with the possibility of renewal for an additional year, depending on the funding.
