Course Description:
COMP 100 is an introduction to the uses, concepts, techniques, and terminology of computing.Places the possibilities and problems of computer use in historical, economic, and social contexts.
Shows how computers can assist in a wide range of personal, commercial, and organizational activities.
Learn basics through intermediate computer concepts with an emphasis on the personal computer and its practical use,
including hardware, system software (Windows 10) and business applications software such as MS-Office 2016
suite of programms (including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Access & MS-PowerPoint) and the use of Internet &
World Wide Web, communicatons, e-commerce, computer security and privacy, and computers in society.
Focus on this course is on the basic knowledge required to be computer literate in today's society and digital world.
This course is not open to Computer Science majors. Available for General Education, Applied Arts and Sciences.
Prerequisites:
No other courses - Anyone with advanced knowledge of Personal Computers should notify Instructor so that youcould assist students during lab time. Every student is required to take a Pre-and Post semester Online Assessment Survey.
