State of California: Content Standards: All Grades
This is a link to the all the standards for California.

State of California: Content Standards: Social Studies/History -Grade 4
These are the "California" standards that outline what 4th graders ought to know about California, and as logic dictates, what students in 417 ought to know very,  very  well.

National Council For Geographic Education (NCGE) Standards
These are the "Geography for Life" Standards from which most states have constructed their own
statewide geography standards.  They are more robust than California's geography standards.

National Council for the Social Studies has grown to be the largest association in the country devoted solely to social studies education. NCSS engages and supports educators in strengthening and advocating social studies.
