We offer individual sessions with writing consultants to students composing assignments in classes in any discipline, supplemental instruction in first-year composition, and workshops on various topics in reading and writing.

The Science, Math, and Related Topics (SMART) Lab offers academic support in accounting, ASL, biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, psychology, and economics.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)


SI or Supplemental Instruction is a nationally recognized program. SI classes (University 60) are peer-facilitated group study sessions designed to help students master difficult subject matter in classes with traditionally low pass rates.

Quick Start

How to Schedule an Appointment via EAB Navigate*

  1. Go to http://csun.campus.eab.com in your internet browser and log in with your CSUN User ID and Password.
  2. Once you're on the home screen, on the right-hand side select on the blue rectangular button that reads “Schedule Appointment or View Drop-In Times.”
  3. Under "What can we help you find?," select "Learning Resource Center (LRC)" in the first drop-down menu.
  4. Under "Reason for your appointment," select the label that best describes your goal for the session. 
  5. Under "Pick a date," select your desired date. 
  6. Select the blue rectangular "Find Available Time" button.
  7. Select "LRC Online Writing Lab" for online appointments (held via Zoom) or "LRC University Writing Center" for in-person appointments (in the University Library, 3rd floor, East wing). 
  8. Select your desired time.
  9. You will be taken to an appointment information page. Scroll down and select the blue rectangular "Schedule" button to reserve the appointment. 
  10.  *Only active CSUN students can book via EAB.* Please call for an appointment if you would like to use your once-per-semester alumni appointment.

How to Attempt a Drop-in (Unscheduled) Appointment*

We will do our best to accommodate you, but drop-ins are not guaranteed. Please make sure to always have your email open and turn on push notifications when you're waiting for a drop-in! You may need to wait for some time. We recommend that you make a scheduled appointment to guarantee that you are seen.

  1. Go to http://csun.campus.eab.com in your internet browser and log in with your CSUN User ID and Password.
  2. From your Dashboard, select the blue rectangular "Schedule Appointment or View Drop-in Availability."
  3. Under "Other Options," select "View Drop-in Times."
  4. Select "Learning Resource Center (LRC)." Under "Reason for your appointment," select the label that best describes your goal for the session. 
  5. Select "LRC Online Writing Lab," then select "Check-in with first available" for the best chance of being seen, or use the drop-down menus to search for a specific consultant. 
  6. If a consultant becomes available, they will send you their personal Zoom link via EAB messages. Please check your messages every 10 minutes.
  7. If you do not respond within 10 minutes, you may be removed from the drop-in waiting list.

To attempt an in-person drop in, please visit the front desk of the Learning Resource Center in the University Library, on the 3rd floor, in the East wing.
