Acknowledging the Reality of Race in the Classroom

For students of color, race is everything.  Even in courses that have nothing to do with the topic of race the dynamics of classroom interactions, and the racial identity of teachers are important factors. In this presentation, Stephen Brookfield will explore how teachers, especially white teachers, can bring race to the foreground in classroom discussions.

Breakout Session: 2 pm - 3 pm

Implementing Protocols for the Discussion of Race

The breakout session will allow us to try out some protocols for discussing race in the classroom.
