The JusticeCorps internship opportunity is offered by AmeriCorps and is for students interested in law, social justice, and community empowerment. JusticeCorps is an innovative approach to solving one of the more pressing issues faced by courts around the country today: providing equal access to justice. JusticeCorps recruits and trains recent college graduates and university students annually to serve in California's overburdening legal self- help centers which specialize in family law, housing, landlord/tenant disputes, or small claims.

Program Opportunities:
Graduate Fellowship - Full-Time
- Must be a recent college graduate by the start of the program year in August
- Assist self-represented litigants in the completion of legal forms and documents
- Lead or co-lead educational workshops teaching legal content
- Act as a team lead to support JusticeCorps minimum time members
- Review case files and electronic case summaries to prepare for workshops and clinics
- Possess a desire to serve the community through leadership, teamwork, & problem-solving
Academic Year - Minimum Time
- Must be enrolled in a four-year university during program term
- Volunteer 6-8 hours per week at a self-help center (300 hours total for program term)
- Assist self-represented litigants by providing information and completing legal forms
- Attend all pre-service & ongoing trainings
Summer - Minimum Time
- Assist self-represented litigants by providing information and completing legal forms
- Serve 35 hours per week & complete 300 hours of service between June & August
