Administrative Barriers

Direct student engagement prior to disenrollment

What

Graduating seniors who miss a payment deadline are at risk of being disenrolled from critical classes that are required for graduation. The Student Finance staff is proactively reaching out to graduating seniors prior to the deadline.  Methods of communication include phone calls, texts and email reminders.  The goal is to ensure that they remain enrolled and graduate on time.  Some of the graduating seniors contacted said they could not pay the full balance by the due date and instead enrolled in an Installment Payment Plan.   Others require an extension due to their unique circumstance.

Project Leads: Deborah Wallace and May Ligh

When

At least one week prior to each payment deadline, beginning in Spring 2017

Outcomes

The number of disenrolled graduating seniors have been significantly reduced.  By getting in touch with the students directly, we can better assist their needs while they complete their final course work.
