Hi! I’m Cynthia, and I’m the Outreach Coordinator. I was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. I am a first-generation Latina college student. I have attended and worked for California State University, Northridge in the department of Student Outreach and Recruitment for 18 years. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s from CSUN.

My role as outreach coordinator is to be the point of contact for the department and outreach team. I coordinate and implement our major events, oversee the Outreach Internship Program and supervise the interns who service our local area, working with high school and community college students.

I have worked with students, from elementary to college age, to promote higher education throughout the San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles area.

I enjoy taking long walks with my dog, Maximus. It gives me a break from work and time to enjoy the outdoors. My motto is, “Higher education is not impossible, but with a little hard work and determination, it’s possible.”
