Lizard Popsicles, Anyone?

In the 1990s, Robert Espinoza, a biologist at California State University, Northridge, heard this story from Dr. Halloy, and he has been studying lizard Popsicles ever since. The lizards belong to the genus Liolaemus, and research by Dr. Espinoza and his colleagues has revealed that the lizards are indisputably the coolest on the planet. Whereas tropical lizards like iguanas fall from trees when it gets cold, Liolaemus can supercool their bodies, tolerate freezing and live farther south and at higher elevations than any other known lizard species. -- DNYUZ

As the NBA and MLB resume, how might empty seats influence player performances? – CSUN's Mark Otten

Baseball and basketball might be returning, but the boo birds and thunder sticks will have to wait ‘til next year. Save for the Toronto Blue Jays, baseball teams have begun playing in their regular stadiums without fans. Meanwhile, all NBA games will be played inside the Orlando bubble before empty crowds. -- Wall Street Window

Cal State Approves New Graduation Requirement: Ethnic Studies Or Social Justice Class

ZINSHTEYN: So for students who took ethnic studies, the course helped them overcome early pressure to assimilate at the expense of their heritage. My colleague Omar Rashad spoke to one student who learned through a course on African studies about the contributions and accomplishments of early African civilizations, which drew that student to the major. And he also did a great job speaking to Raven Freebird. She's a recent graduate of CSU Northridge, and she explained how in her sophomore year, she did not feel motivated. She described herself as having not really a purpose. And she stumbled upon this American Indian studies class. -- High Plains Public Radio
