Venerable Pomnyun Sunim, winner of the 2002 Ramon Magsaysay award for Peace and International Understanding and the 2020 Niwano Peace Prize (for advocating peace with the North Korean people and sustainable development initiatives in Bhutan, North Korea, India, Philippines, and Indonesia), will be hosting a Dharma talk on how a person can handle difficult situations they face in life using the Buddha's teachings at the Orchard Conference Center in Cal State University Northridge campus. Audience members may bring questions they would like to discuss with Venerable Pomnyun. Any topic can be addressed. Examples of questions being asked include, "How do I handle stress at school?" "How do I help my spouse's alcoholism?" or "How do I help my kid study better?" The monk is quite well known in South Korea for doing these talks.
