CSUN Women’s Volleyball Loses Season Opener to Seattle in 5 Sets

The CSUN women's volleyball team lost their season opener against Seattle University in a tightly contested five-set match, concluding the tournament at Reed Gym in Idaho. Sophomore Hailey Brockway led the Matadors with 22 kills, and junior Amaris Smith contributed 19. Despite recording more kills than Seattle (71 to 56) and a better hitting percentage (.216 to .192), CSUN struggled with crucial moments in the match, ultimately falling 3-2. The match featured intense rallies, highlighted by a dramatic third set where Seattle surged back from a deficit. CSUN's setter Katie Kolar had an impressive debut, posting a double-double with 53 assists and 16 digs.
