Dr. Lancaster teaches keyboard musicianship, piano ensemble, and keyboard literature as a member of the piano faculty at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). He is the author or co-author of more than 400 publications for piano students of all ages. His works include the Alfred Music Publishing series of piano method books used at SMC. Dr. Lancaster has led workshops for music teachers throughout the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. He was named a Signature Sinfonian by the national music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and his numerous awards and honors for excellence in teaching and guiding students include the Distinguished Alumnus Award and Outstanding Alumnus in Fine Arts Award from Murray State University, Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the California Association of Professional Music Teachers and the National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy. Dr. Lancaster is a former professor of music at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, where he established the Master's and Doctoral programs in piano pedagogy.
