Dr. Sullivan, Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health at Cal State Northridge, will
talk about how the early history of the automobile in the United States is inextricably intertwined with the development of many aspects of U.S. society at the beginning of the 20th century. The development of the workweek, worker’s pay, roads and development, fueling infrastructure and suburban areas are all associated with the automobile.
