IRS Encourages Taxpayers to File On Time

The Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA) Program – founded in 1971 by Gary Iskowitz at California State University, Northridge – offers residents making under $64,000 a year in gross income, free tax preparation help from IRS-certified volunteers. The program is also available to persons with disabilities, elderly and limited English speakers.
