Simon graduated from California State University, Northridge, and Loyola Law School and has been a Ventura County prosecutor since 1984, specializing in homicides as well as arson. He has worked on several cases featured on TV shows, including the murder of Norma Rodriguez by Warren Mackey, the murders of Lisa Gondek and Rachel Zendejas (defendant pending trial), and Seabee murder-case defendants Matt Turner, Rebecca Braswell and Shannon Butler. Simon was also Ventura County’s assigned prosecutor on the Golden State Killer case. He was twice named Prosecutor of the Year for the Ventura County DA’s Office and once named Prosecutor of the Year by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).
