CSUN Cinematheque presents the original SHAFT (1971) directed by Gordon Parks and starring Richard Roundtree. Adapted from the first of seven novels featuring Detective John Shaft by crime novelist Ernest Tidyman (The French Connection), SHAFT features an Oscar-winning score by Isaac Hayes.
