Watermelons have been going missing at this Texas home. Turns out coyotes are why.

In a 2020 study by the National Park Service and California State University Northridge, researchers determined that coyotes have developed a taste not only for garbage, but also fruits like watermelon, as well as domestic cats. The study found that human food resources including garbage, ornamental fruits, and domestic cats accounted for between 60 to 75 percent of urban coyote diets.
