CSUN Women’s Soccer team has started their fall training camp in preparation for the upcoming season. Head coach Christine Johnson is impressed with the team’s dedication and fitness levels. The team is looking to build on the progress made last season, with several returning players who have experience in college soccer. They will have to fill the void left by the departure of All-Big West First Team selection Cindy Arteaga, who has signed with a professional team in Mexico. Graduate forward Ashley Cruz is the team’s top returning point scorer and is determined to make her final season a successful one. The team has added several new players, including true freshmen and Division I transfers. Their exhibition play begins on August 8th, with the official season opener on August 17th.
