On April 11, 2023, the CSUN Matadome was officially renamed the Premier America Credit Union Arena at a ribbon cutting ceremony on the west patio of Redwood Hall.
As Dean of the College of Health and Human Development, and as a member of the Credit Union's Board of Directors, Mechelle Best spoke about the rewarding partnership between CSUN and the Credit Union, and the ways the Credit Union is driven to work for the entire CSUN Community, from current students to longtime alumni.
Best also talked about the ways the partnership supports and strengthens the commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion shared by CSUN and the Credit Union.
The Premier America Credit Union now becomes the "official credit union of CSUN" as well well as partnering with CSUN Athletics and the CSUN Alumni Association. A branch will be opened on the CSUN campus, with ATMs available, too. The Credit Union will host financial literacy events and sponsor various student and campus events.
The event featured games and activities, and vendors from local businesses including True Barbershop, the Kogi Korean Barbeque food truck, and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, with music from Get in the Groove Entertainment.
