Jim Harrick Jr., son of ex-UCLA basketball national champion coach Jim Harrick, dead at 58

In regards to the elder Harrick, Harrick Sr. was in the college basketball coaching industry from 1973-2021, beginning as an assistant at Utah State and most recently serving as an assistant at Cal State Northridge from 2018-21. Harrick Sr. first joined UCLA as an assistant from 1977-79 before returning to Westwood as the Bruins head coach from 1988-96. The Bruins captured their 11th national title and most recent to date during the 1994-95 season under Harrick Sr. He was named Naismith College Coach of the Year in 1995.
