Self-care on the holidays

December 19, 2022

Dear College of Education Community,

As we come to the end of another complicated and challenging year, we can be proud of our resiliency and ability to thrive. We are a college of committed and talented faculty, staff, students, and community partners who have joined together to achieve outstanding success even in the face of adversity! We recognize that although our commitment in the past year to social justice, educational excellence, and community service has been rewarding, it has also taken a toll on us. We proudly remain leaders and collaborators engaged in self-care activities, processing the socio-emotional impact of all that has confronted us, and identifying ways to move forward toward wellbeing for students, faculty, staff, and our community. A new year’s wish is to find time for compassion and healing.  Compassion is not just about being kind and considerate to others. We also need to show compassion to ourselves. As we work together in caring and unity, we can renew our hope and optimism in the new year.

For a list of self-care options, please go to our COE self-care website for resources for faculty, staff, students, and the community at https://www.csun.edu/eisner-education/self-care/articles-information-self-care

May you all experience happiness, health, and self-care this holiday season and throughout the new  year!!

With gratitude,
