LEARN WITH COLLEAGUES ACROSS THE CSU!
Many professional & personal development classes that were formerly in-person are now offered virtually. This gives us a unique opportunity to extend campus classes beyond campus borders and offer a new way to share professional development across the CSU!
CSUN HR has partnered with the following campuses to participate in a cross-campus collaboration and offer classes exclusively to other participating campuses:
Chancellor’s Office, Channel Islands, Chico, East Bay, Fresno, Humboldt, Long Beach, Monterey Bay, Northridge, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, and Stanislaus

Matador SUCCESS Series: CSUN’s Social Justice Legacy: EOP, Ethnic Studies, and the Path Forward | October 27

Please join us Thursday for the first event in the 2022-2023 Matador S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Series: “CSUN’s Social Justice Legacy: EOP, Ethnic Studies, and the Path Forward.” There will be a panel of guest speakers who will discuss the role CSUN’s students and faculty played (formerly San Fernando Valley State College) in the push for the state to make higher education both accessible and relevant to minoritized students and how this fight for social justice informs our current practices.
Following the panel discussion will be an outdoor reception.

Graduation Initiative 2025 Convening | October 28
The California State University system has a life-changing and profound effect on its students, whose perseverance and success inspire us all. This year’s CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 Convening theme, Transformational Change One Student at a Time, reminds us that even the smallest of actions have a big impact on our students’ lives.
We invite you to join us for an exciting virtual gathering where you will hear from our students, who will share their stories of success through the CSU – and highlight those who have helped them along the way. Food Drive Benefiting the CSUN Food Pantry | October 31 - November 4
The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, CSUN Police Department K-9 Unit, CSUN Police Department, Office of Faculty Affairs, and Student Housing & Residential Life are sponsoring a Food Donation Drive for the CSUN Food Pantry.
The CSUN Food Pantry provide nourishment and basic necessities at no cost to CSUN students.

17th Annual Liberation Based Healing Conference at CSUN | November 4 & 5
The Liberation Based Healing Conference taking place at CSUN November 4th and 5th aims to create a space centering on liberation-based practices that promote empowerment, accountability, reconciliation and healing among individuals, families, and communities. The conference brings together social workers, therapists, educators and students, activists, organizers, and artists into community to cultivate a spirit of positivity, resistance, unity, and connection to fortify us in our efforts toward liberation and healing.
Liberation Based Healing Conference (LBHC) 2022 Volunteer Interest Form. Last day to sign up is October 25, 2022.
Currently, only a limited number of seats for Saturday, November 5th seats remain.
Admission is FREE for currently enrolled CSUN students!

Collaboratoria Dance Concert: Three performances | November 9 & 10
The Department of Kinesiology invites you to Colaboratoria: Graduate Student, Alumni and Faculty Dance Concert. The annual fall dance concert provides rich opportunities to integrate the art and science of human movement, in fact, psychophysiology data will be gathered during each performance. These performance events are supported by the Institutionally Related Activities program; this program is integral to the vitality of our dance programming at CSUN.
HHD 2022-23 Research Excellence & Innovation Conference | November 17 & 18
The College of Health and Human Development (HHD) is hosting a conference to showcase the diversity of disciplines in the College. All HHD students, staff, and faculty are invited to participate in a variety of presentation formats including workshops, panel discussions, papers, live research spotlights, posters, performances, installations, and exhibits. There will be a keynote speaker, awards for presenters, and cash prizes for students.
Presentations are limited to HHD, but this event is open to campus-wide and public attendance. Thursday, November 17, 9 am - 5 pm, Friday, November 18, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. All attendees must register. Find Out More About the Conference
Police Services is Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Pink Patch Project and You Can Too
CSUN's Department of Police Services is participating in the Pink Patch Project, an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease. And, you can too!
The project is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs’ Association and public safety agencies in Los Angeles County and beyond. These agencies have partnered together to combat breast cancer by raising public awareness about the importance of early detection in the fight against the disease and to raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment. Save the Date - MDECOE Center for Teaching & Learning presents: Flourishing through Chronic Too-Muchness | February 23, 2023
In order to PLAN AHEAD for next semester's Education on the Edge event so that faculty can put this in their syllabi, the CTL is announcing the next virtual event for FEB 23 from 4:30-6pm. The topic is "Flourishing through chronic too-muchness" and will be VERY applicable to all CSUN students, professors, staff, and .....well, everyone!

MDECOE Center for Teaching & Learning Accepting Submissions for Publication in T-Care, an International Peer-Reviewed Newsletter
If you are interested in being published in one of our publications, the CTL is actively seeking submissions for the next issue of T-CARE. Share your practical strategies, your helpful resources, and your educational insights in this open topic call for submissions! Please email all submissions to ctl@csun.edu.
