Sandy Kriegler: From CSUN to the Supreme Court and Back Event FlyerThe Sierra Series events offer compelling, inspiring speakers, who inform, entertain and enlighten the audience with timely presentations that appeal to a wide-ranging audience. Please join us at our fall event, From CSUN to the Supreme Court and Back, The Unlikely Journey of a Valley Boy, featuring retired California Court of Appeal Justice Sandy Kriegler, author of Hidden Behind the Robe, a legal thriller drawing rave reviews.

About Sandy Kriegler

After graduating cum laude from CSUN in 1972 and Loyola Law School in 1975, Justice Kriegler worked for ten years as a prosecutor in the Office of the California Attorney General, where he successfully argued cases in the California and United States Supreme Court. In 1985, he began a twenty-year career as a judge on the Municipal and Superior Court, where he presided over 400 criminal jury trials. He finished his judicial career with thirteen years on the Court of Appeal, where he authored over 1200 appellate opinions.

Following his retirement from the bench in 2018, Justice Kriegler has served as a faculty member in CSUN’s Department of Criminal and Justice Studies.

Combining timely issues of privilege, race, and sexual misconduct, Hidden Behind the Robe provides a raw, behind-the-scenes perspective on the legal system. This is a book that could only have been written by a judge, like Justice Kriegler, who has seen it all firsthand.

What is really hidden behind the robe? Here is a hint--CSUN is the star of the novel!

Please join us in-person and via Zoom, for a fascinating presentation, followed by a lively q & a session with Justice Kriegler, this fall; stay tuned for details
