Scott Whitney, former Oxnard police chief, to lead Ventura County DA's investigation unit

Born and raised in Ventura County, Whitney graduated from Oxnard High School and attended the University of Oregon on a football scholarship. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration and later earned a master's in public administration from CSU Northridge.
